Dalubhasaan ng Lungsod ng Lucena receives CHED’s Gawad Parangal for LUCs

Dalubhasaan ng Lungsod ng Lucena (DLL) was awarded Institutional Recognition by Commission on Higher Education making it a full-fledged, CHED-recognized university.

Lucena City Mayor Roderick Alcala together with DLL acting President Dr. Maria Charmaine Lagustan, Dean and College Administrator Dr. Mercedita Torres received the trophy and certificate of eligibility from CHED Chairman Prospero de Vera, UniFAST OIC-Executive Director IV Ryan Estevez and CHED RO IV Director Amelia Biglete, June 25.

Gawad Parangal is the CHED Institutional Recognition for state universities and colleges (SUCs) and local universities and colleges (LUCs) who have been acknowledged as Higher Education Institution (HEI). As a recipient of the award, DLL is eligible to avail the benefits of RA 10931 known as Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act.

Indeed, a milestone in the history of the Dalubhasaan ng Lungsod ng Lucena, the first LUC established in Quezon Province and also the first LUC to be granted HEI status by CHED.

This award is a testament to the hard work of the city government and the capacity of DLL to provide quality and affordable education to indigent but deserving youth.
